In 2012 Christina completed her Prenatal Teachers Training and Certification in Toronto with Janice Clarfield, an international teacher, author and advisor for the Prenatal Yoga Advisory Committee for Yoga Alliance, USA. Christina’s prenatal classes are supported by her knowledge and confidence to demonstrate techniques that allow pregnant women to give birth as consciously and naturally as possible.

Michelle Miranda has been practicing yoga since 2002. Michelle received her 200 hour teachers certification in 2014 at the first Teacher Training Program at Sacred Lotus Yoga Studio taught by two extraordinary gifted teachers, Christina O’Neill and Beth Rutty. Michelle completed a 30 week Meditation Course at Welkin Yogalife Institute in 2009-2010. Michelle has studied with a variety of teachers at conferences and workshops over the past 10 years.
The teachings of alignment based Hatha yoga have been influential in her yoga practice through working with Christina O’Neill at Sacred Lotus for the past 10 years. This is the knowledge Michelle feels passionate about and wants to share with her students.
Yoga is for everyone. Each student comes to yoga with their own unique gifts and challenges and each person takes what they need from this practice, be it physical, spiritual, mental ….yoga transforms us.
Michelle’s goal is to teach students how to link mind and body through the breath in order to be present. “Yoga takes you into the present moment the only place where the mind is free of all disturbances “. This is the gift of yoga she wants share with her students.
Michelle worked as a counselor for 28 years at the Family Counselling Centre of Brant but retired in June 2014 in order to focus on teaching yoga. She enjoys traveling to new places, golfing, interior decorating and being creative especially with paint.
Catherine first came to yoga ten years ago out of curiosity. The connection of mind, body, and spirit that she received captured her interest and has led to a deep passion for the benefits of yoga. Catherine has studied under many teachers over the years with a focus on alignment based Hatha yoga and the flowing Ashtanga practice.
She has a strong belief in the powerful benefits of yoga and its ability to transform one’s mind, body and spirit as it aids in helping maintain optimal overall health. Her desire to share this information with others, and her desire to deepen her own understanding of the teaching of yoga, led her to be part of Sacred Lotus’ first 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training lead by Christina O’Neill and Beth Rutty. This training introduced Catherine to the fundamental principles of quality teaching and inspired her passion for yoga even more. Outside of yoga Catherine is a teacher of special needs students and brings her passion for teaching to the yoga mat both in the classroom and in the studio.
Catherine is honored to share the teachings of yoga and its benefits with others in her community at Sacred Lotus.
Karen knew that when she first discovered yoga in 2010, during a Health and Wellness class at Niagara College, it was meant to be a part of her life.
Being a lover of travel, Karen chose to accomplish her 200 hour certification at a beautiful wellness retreat centre in Costa Rica. Karen studied under the lovely Paula Tursi, Founder and Director of Reflections Center for Conscious Living & Yoga, in New York City.
It is her desire to be able to share her love for yoga, health and wellness in every aspect of life, allowing accessibility for everyone.
Karen’s journey has just begun, and she is grateful to be a part of the Sacred Lotus family!
Davina came across a yoga class in the late 1990’s, quite by accident. An avid runner and skier, she connected to the athleticism of the physical poses immediately. Understanding that she had encountered something special, Davina began to take regular classes with Nesta Falladown in Burlington, Ontario. Her path led to a graduation from a 500-hour programme in 2002, to teaching part-time. Moved by the complexity of yoga, and fascinated by the work of yoga master BKS Iyengar, she sought out senior teachers who could guide her. Immersion study in the Iyengar tradition began with Francois Raoult in Rochester, New York (8 years) and continues today with Mahyar Raz in Toronto (13 years and counting). Davina received her Level 2 Certificate from the Iyengar Association in 2013, a designation recognized world-wide. She has been teaching professionally since 2008.
Victoria has been a dedicated runner, cyclist, swimmer and skier for over 40 years. When she discovered yoga after having children it seemed to be a natural addition to her routine. During that time she practised both Hatha and Ashtanga yoga.
Since joining the Sacred Lotus Yoga Studio community in 2014 her interest and passion for yoga has grown and been influenced by the knowledge and dedication for Alignment based Hatha Yoga with Christina O’Neill. Keen to learn more about Yoga and and the connection of body mind and spirit she was inspired to join the yoga teachers training program at Sacred Lotus Yoga studio under the direction of Christina, and guest teacher, Davina Parkinson in 2017. After which she received her 250 hour teacher training certification.
She believes in the many benefits of yoga for the body, mind, spirit and overall health and feels strongly about sharing this knowledge with others.
Victoria worked as a clinical research nurse for 26 years before retiring in 2014.
She is grateful for the opportunity to teach and be part of the unique community at the Sacred Lotus Yoga studio.
