Sacred Lotus Yoga Studio is pleased to offer a number of exceptional teachers. Our teachers are certified Yoga instructors who provide all-level instruction in a safe, encouraging atmosphere. We continually adapt to the needs of our students.

Christina O’Neill

Christina O’Neill has been a practicing yoga since 1999 and has been a Certified Yoga Teacher since September 2002, after completing the 500-hour Yoga Teachers Training Program at the Yoga Centre of Burlington, led by Nesta Falladown and Susan McClelland. It was that intensive training program that introduced Christina to the fundamental principles of quality teaching and inspired her passion for alignment based yoga.

In 2012 Christina completed her Prenatal Teachers Training and Certification in Toronto with Janice Clarfield, an international teacher, author and advisor for the Prenatal Yoga Advisory Committee for Yoga Alliance, USA. Christina’s prenatal classes are supported by her knowledge and confidence to demonstrate techniques that allow pregnant women to give birth as consciously and naturally as possible.

Christina teaches Hatha alignment based yoga including gentle, basic, restorative, intermediate and prenatal classes. She is dedicated to a journey of lifelong learning, expanding her knowledge and studying with internationally acclaimed teachers including: Brad Waites, Leslie Kaminoff, Maria Garre, Susi Hately, Prahlada, Francois Raoult, Nishala Joy Devi, Sean Corne, Rodney Yee, David and Doug Swenson, Baron Baptiste, Cyndi Lee, Natasha Rizopoulos, Judith Lasater, Todd and Anne Norian, Aadil Palkhivala, Jill Miller, Jai Uttal, Deva Premal and Mitten, Eoin Finn, Diane Bruni, Doug Kellar, and Dr Ray Long.

At Sacred Lotus Yoga Studio, Christina hopes to share her passion of yoga with everybody. She believes yoga is beneficial for one and all; regardless of age, gender, health or mobility.

Christina wishes to thank her students for their support and interest in yoga, and welcomes new students to visit the studio to experience this healing path of yoga and self-awareness.

Michelle Miranda

Michelle Miranda has been practicing yoga since 2002. Michelle received her 200 hour teachers certification in 2014 at the first Teacher Training Program at Sacred Lotus Yoga Studio taught by two extraordinary gifted teachers, Christina O’Neill and Beth Rutty. Michelle completed a 30 week Meditation Course at Welkin Yogalife Institute in 2009-2010. Michelle has studied with a variety of teachers at conferences and workshops over the past 10 years.

The teachings of alignment based Hatha yoga have been influential in her yoga practice through working with Christina O’Neill at Sacred Lotus for the past 10 years. This is the knowledge Michelle feels passionate about and wants to share with her students.

Yoga is for everyone. Each student comes to yoga with their own unique gifts and challenges and each person takes what they need from this practice, be it physical, spiritual, mental ….yoga transforms us.

Michelle’s goal is to teach students how to link mind and body through the breath in order to be present. “Yoga takes you into the present moment the only place where the mind is free of all disturbances “. This is the gift of yoga she wants share with her students.

Michelle worked as a counselor for 28 years at the Family Counselling Centre of Brant but retired in June 2014 in order to focus on teaching yoga. She enjoys traveling to new places, golfing, interior decorating and being creative especially with paint.

Victoria Malcolm

Victoria has been a dedicated runner, cyclist, swimmer and skier for over 40 years. When she discovered yoga after having children it seemed to be a natural addition to her routine. During that time she practised both Hatha and Ashtanga yoga.

Since joining the Sacred Lotus Yoga Studio community in 2014 her interest and passion for yoga has grown and been influenced by the knowledge and dedication for Alignment based Hatha Yoga with Christina O’Neill. Keen to learn more about Yoga and and the connection of body mind and spirit she was inspired to join the yoga teachers training program at Sacred Lotus Yoga studio under the direction of Christina, and guest teacher, Davina Parkinson in 2017. After which she received her 250 hour teacher training certification.

She believes in the many benefits of yoga for the body, mind, spirit and overall health and feels strongly about sharing this knowledge with others.

Victoria worked as a clinical research nurse for 26 years before retiring in 2014.

She is grateful for the opportunity to teach and be part of the unique community at the Sacred Lotus Yoga studio.
