Classes

Our classes are intelligently infused by the yoga styles studied and practiced by our teachers who offer a balanced, informative practice for students at all levels. We offer a variety of yoga styles including Hatha, Restorative, Meditation, Pre-Natal and Mom and Baby.

Classes are offered as:
– Unlimited 1 month and 3 month passes
– Card passes of 10 or 20 classes
– Drop-in for any single class
– Workshops pre register for specialized sessions
– 1 week unlimited (for new students)
– 1 year unlimited

Our classes are multi-level, with options for beginners, intermediate and advanced students. People at any age or fitness level can reap the many benefits of a regular yoga practice. All that’s required is a willingness to learn, explore, and have fun!

 

 

Hatha Basic and Intermediate Classes

These classes are designed to strengthen, stretch, tone and relax. Whether you are trying to get in shape, cope with tension from the office or relieve the tightness in your body from sports, Hatha yoga can benefit you. Hatha yoga is the classical form of yoga postures and breathing that revitalizes the body physically and mentally. It is an uplifting practice that increases muscle tone, improves flexibility and concentration, detoxifies the vital organs and allows you to experience a state of deep relaxation. The level of the class will depend on the teacher and the needs of the students. You can always make classes easier or more challenging for yourself by following the teachers’ cues for variations and modifications of the poses. Hatha classes welcome students of all levels and is a great way to begin your yoga journey.

Gentle Yoga Class

Gentle yoga class (Hatha) benefits those with injuries and limitations. Some benefits that may occur from regular yoga practice are: improved sleep; increased strength and reduced level of arthritic and chronic pain; decrease in blood sugar levels; decrease in blood pressure; reduced weight gain; improved breathing, improved mood and reduced anxiety.

Prenatal

Pregnancy Yoga-classes are designed to help women increase energy and vitality, to soften, surrender and deeply relax. Prenatal yoga class postures are modified to accommodate the changing needs of the expectant mother. Emphasis is on breathwork, listening to one’s body and connecting with baby. Women gain confidence in their ability to give birth.

Benefits include:
– Prepares the pelvic muscles, hips and legs for childbirth
– Helps you process emotions from the increased hormonal activity
– Brings a greater awareness of the breath, and how to use it during labor to calm yourself
– Improves circulation, which is important because you are sharing your blood circulation with your baby
– Keeps the body supple and aligned while it changes to accommodate the life within
– Most importantly, helps you connect with your unborn child

Postnatal Mom & Baby Class

Mom & baby yoga classes provide an opportunity for you to regain strength and flexibility, to bond with your baby in an enjoyable activity and to make friends with other moms.

The focus of the class is on movements and breathing specifically tailored for new moms. The babies benefit from the bonding time with mom, baby massages and the stimulating environment of new baby friends!

Special attention is placed on developing core strength and stability – involving a particular emphasis on strengthening the back, abdomen and pelvic floor, as well as relieving tension in areas such as the neck, shoulders and back.

Previous yoga experience is not necessary to fully benefit from the classes, and women who have practiced yoga before will find these classes are a great way to transition back to their pre-pregnancy practice.

Restorative Yoga Class

Let stress and tension melt away and connect with a deep sense of peace and relaxation. Restorative Yoga is a gentle healing form of Hatha yoga that is practiced with props to provide a supportive environment for total relaxation. Only 5-6 Restorative poses are practiced per class. These gentle poses create physiological responses which are beneficial to your health and can reduce the effects of stress-related illness. The class is slow, deeply nurturing and suitable for all ages – particularly those with chronic pain or limitations.

Lunch Hour Yoga Class

Having trouble staying productive at work in the afternoon hours? Come alone or get a group together from the office and come take our 45 minute lunch hour yoga class! You will leave feeling energized, focused and ready for the rest of your day. All levels welcome.

Meditation

This class is for individuals who are interested in the practice of mindfulness and meditation. The class would be suitable for anyone and no prior meditation experience is necessary. Mindfulness is a capacity of “living in the moment” that anyone can cultivate. It is developed by paying attention, on purpose, from moment to moment through meditation. You can discover calmness of mind, increased personal energy, a sense of well-being, and deeper insight into your life. In this class, the meditations are guided by the instructor and they are of varying lengths to help bring variety to the practice. You will be provided with suggestions on how to apply mindfulness in your daily life. A calm and peaceful way to end your week and set the tone for the new week.
